UAV Data Acquisition

Using lightweight LiDAR scanning systems, installed onto multi-rotor drone, Vault Subsea has acquired survey data to design coastal protection products, mitigating erosion, protecting homes.

LiDAR data collected was processed and assembled to identify areas of risk during various tidal times.  Using the UAV as opposed to traditional topographical survey techniques enabled multiple data sets to be collected at various times and under various conditions.  

Data was overlaid onto a masterplan to enable protections products to be designed and installed at high-risk focus points.

Post-installation surveys are planned as part of an overall maintenance contract to monitor conditions up and down the coastal stretch, using the same techniques.
